If you use the BlackBerry Curve 8520 then you might like to know about the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 which is RIM’s latest Smartphone they’ve released that serves as an update in the curve series or as a mashup version of the 8520 and 8900 as some say. Now featuring 3G connectivity as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and some other small but subtle changes. Something any 8520 user will tell you is an unfortunate disability unless you are a BlackBerry Bold 9700 user in which case this is a new Smartphone on the block in your league now…
But with the speeds of 3G and HSDPA these days you are always connected even without Wi-Fi at near Wi-Fi speeds because of the 3G with GPRS and EDGE built in and HSDPA which works at the speeds above. (3G is around 2Mbps and HSDPA is around 7.2Mbps in most Smartphone modems such as the Curve 3G 9300. Even though the fastest speeds now are with 4G phones with up to 7 or 8Gbps but is not available everywhere yet.)
So small subtle changes? Well actually they have completely redesigned the hardware so it’s more even more comfortable and ergonomic grip in your hand to access the dedicated media and volume controls. And with the other connection abilities personally I think it pans even nicer than the 9700 but it’s up to you to decide.
If you’re due an upgrade ask about the Curve 9300. With upgradable storage with a microSD card, up to 32GB there’s enough for every media junky. Full QWERTY keyboard, T9, Touch-sensitive optical trackpad, 3.5 mm audio jack. MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV/FLAC player, MP4/H.263/H.264 WMV player, Organizer,Voice memo and more it’s sure to be a new future proof smartphone for both business and personal user.
